While the fourquet (a wooden stick) was once used to stir the brew, less restrictive methods gradually facilitated the ancestral know-how and promoted the Van Windekens family\u2019s craft.<\/p>

When Hector Van Windekens fell in love with his future wife, he had no idea that he was about to switch profession. His fianc\u00e9e Hortense came as a matter of fact from a family of brewers. And so, Hector, Warneton\u2019s postmaster, started brewing beer in 1853.
